Project-Based Voucher Program Opens

Contra Costa County’s Housing Authority announced that the Project-Based Voucher waitlist opened this summer and continues to help connect families and seniors with stable housing. Applications are being supported by community nonprofits across the county.

Addressing Student Housing Insecurity

A recent Contra Costa College report showed that nearly 1 in 5 students experience housing insecurity or homelessness. In response, the Compass Center has helped nearly 1,000 students this year with food support, temporary housing, and rental assistance.

  • Brentwood Fire Station & Growth – Approved in June, Fire Station 94 will not only improve safety but is part of a larger downtown revitalization effort, paving the way for new mixed-use and housing projects.

  • Affordable Housing Grants – Contra Costa supervisors are reviewing proposals for affordable housing projects funded by Measure X, HOME, and PLHA grants, with awards expected later this fall.
